3.3. How to Host Your Own Meeting

If you would like to host your own meeting to facilitate study groups or office hours, please follow these instructions below:

  • First, launch the Zoom application and click on the orange New Meeting button

  • Once the Zoom meeting launches, click the button in the pop-up window “Join with Computer Audio”:

  • Additionally, if you would like to test your speaker and microphone, click on “Test Speaker and Microphone”.
  • If you would like for your audience to hear you, see you, or both, make sure you are unmuted and you start your video. To unmute yourself and/or start your video, click on the unmute button or start video button in the bottom left-hand corner:

  • To share your meeting so others can join, Click the "I" icon in the top left-hand corner:


  • Click "Copy URL" and send to any participant who should be included in the meeting
